Taiko Drumming

We were lucky to have Kiyomi-sensei visit ASC in Week 5 to teach some students TAIKO! Kiyomi-sensei tours Australia leaving lasting impressions on many of her students. 

The Den was transformed into a TAIKO DOUJOU as students produced wonderful sounds under Kiyomi-sensei's skillful instruction. Students were especially required to practice self-discipline teamwork in order to synchronise their performances.

ASC Dance Ensemble

The ASC Combined Dance Ensemble has been meeting twice a week at recess to practice their routines in preparation for submitting an audition tape for this year's Schools Spectacular.

Schools Spectacular Callback Audition

Congratulations to Nicole Tarrant (Year 10), who received a call-back nomination for this year's Schools Spectacular. In between all of her other busy commitments, Nicole prepared and submitted her call-back audition video. It featured Nicole accompanying herself on the piano while singing Somebody Else, an original composition.

CAPA Stars

Recent CAPA star recipients include Alyssa Jarrett (Year 11), and Year 7 students Saho Brown, Alma Kanety, and Jay Gates.

Alyssa received the award for her passion, dedication and creativity in Visual Design. Her Zines in particular, demonstrate a powerful social and political artistic voice. 

Saho, Alma and Jay received the award for their efforts, dedication and creativity as a piano trio ensemble as well as valued members of ASC Strings. They often use their breaks and own time to rehearse together and have already performed for the school a number of times.
