2022 Rockfest Update

 

Trafalgar Primary School’s Music Department entered 3 bands into this year’s National Battle of the Bands Competition RockFest Australia 

 

This year it is running digitally again. The bands were recorded and videoed playing a song live in the music room at Trafalgar Primary School and the videos entered. I am pleased and proud to announce that one of our band's have made the National Finals for the second year running. 

 

‘The Blueberries’, a 5-piece band comprising the members River  (Vocals), Dion  (Guitar), and Bryn (Drums), Quinn (Bass), and Oscar (Keyboard) have been nominated for Best Primary Band Nationally.

Since River has departed the school this band has been performing as ‘System Overload’ with Max Allen taking over from River on vocals.

 

The 2022 Awards will be announced soon.

Summer Sports

On Monday 10th October all grade 5 and 6 students visited Chario Christian School, Drouin Campus to compete in the Summer Sports program against other schools within our region.

 

In a range of mixed teams the students competed in; Volleyball, Basketball & Softball. Congratulations to all sudents and teams for a fabulous day of sport and teamwork.

 

The following teams have made it successfully through the the next round. 

  • Girls Volleyball - Trafalgar A team
  •  Boys/mixed Volleyball - Trafalgar A team
    •  will both compete at the Moe-Newborough Rec Centre on Thursday, 3rd November 2022
  • Mixed Softball Team
    • will compete at Bass on Friday 28th October

Goodluck for the next round for all the students participating. More information will be available closer to these dates.

Swimming

Over the past couple of weeks our students have been having a great time participating in the School Swim Program at Latrobe Leisure Center Newborough.

 

 

Gippsland Regional Athletics

On Tuesday 11th October, three students represented Trafalgar Primary School at the Gippsland Regional Athletics competition in Newborough. 

 

This is one of the highest levels of athletic competition in the School Sports Victoria calendar, with high performing students from across Gippsland coming together to compete in different track and field events as they attempt to qualify for the Victorian State Athletics Championship. 

  • Madison represented Trafalgar Primary School in the 12/13 Girls discus. 
  • Noah competed in the 11 Boys 200m event
  • Evan represented our school in the 9/10 Boys high jump.

This is a fantastic athletic achievement by these students and we wish to congratulate them on their selection and high performance at this event.
