Term 4 in STEM
Hello everyone, we have made it to Term 4 in the STEM. This term brings a new phase of investigating and fresh topics to be explored. Check below to see what your child will be learning about:
Grade Prep: 'Events of the day'- Learning how different events in the day affect choices, eg weather, time, season.
Grade 1/2: 'Our Earth's Resources'- A Focus on Water, its uses, behaviour, and where we can find it.
Grade 3: 'Heat it up'- Learning about heat sources, conductors and how heat is transferred from one object to another.
Grade 4: 'Changing Earth'- Learning about changes to our earth over time and how events such as erosion shape our landscape.
Grade 5: 'Natural Disasters'- Exploring different types of Natural Disasters, their causes and dangers to survival.
Grade 6: 'Its Changing!'- Investigating Physical and Chemical Changes. Identify evidence of different types of changes and learning how variables may affect these changes.
Our Grade 5/6 STEM Achievers Group is also in full swing this term and will see students participate in a series of robotic challenges as part of the First Lego League Competition. Students will put their skills of coding and teamwork to the test when they compete against other schools in this international tournament. Events will be happening all over Australia with our event set to take place in Mid-November at Roxburgh College. We can't wait!
