Welcome back everyone to the last term of the year. This term the Year 4 students will be very busy! With an exciting Sphero excursion, a trip to the Melbourne Zoo, Writer's Festival and swimming lessons, there is so much to look forward to. We have great activities planned for inside the classroom too!

Literacy

During Term 4 in Literacy, students will be exploring biographies. They will be exposed to a range of biographies about many people from all over the world, that include orientation, chronological order of life events, family background, education, career, and achievements. Students will have many opportunities to write their own biographies. They will explore the many different language features incorporated in this genre which includes past tense verbs, time connectives, emotive language and cause and effect connectives. Students will be using their 'Bump It Up' wall to self-assess and to build their skills in grammar and punctuation, spelling, ideas, language and revising. Students will also be building their comprehension strategies of inferring, synthesising and critiquing. Students will continue achieving their reading and writing goals as they reach the end of the year.
