Our Inquiry into Sustainability & Causation

At the Week Two assembly, the JLA presented about our learnings throughout our inquiry into Sustainability & Causation. In case you missed it, this was our presentation!

In JLA, we went on an excursion to Scienceworks. (James JLA1) We're going to talk about what we did there. (Joshua V JLA2) Before we went to Scienceworks, we did little experiments in our classroom. They were fun. (Emily JLA3)
We made cheese that went hard. (Xavier JLA1) We were exploring physical changes and chemical changes. (Matthew B JLA2) We used vinegar and milk to make the ricotta cheese. We needed to apply heat to see a change. (Marcus JLA3)
We made butter. When we put the cream in the jar it began as liquid with some salt. (Kyson JLA1) We added two marbles and then shook the jar for a long time. (Dash JLA2) It became solid and we got to eat the butter on some bread! This was a physical change. (Imogen JLA3)
We made boats by only using one cork and two tooth picks and some paper for a sail and raced each other. (Isla JLA1) We were learning about push and pull but we weren't allowed to touch the boats. (Mia JLA2) We used our breath to blow the boats to push. (Max JLA3)
We did a lot of sports like netball and footy and had fun. (JLA1 Harper) Everybody loved the different types of sports, including the wheelchair racing. (JLA2 Sierra) We got to test our height, our strength and our weight. (JLA3 Leo M)
In the Push and Pull show some people went up to demonstrate different push and pulls. We learnt that push and pull are the only forces that exist. (Jessica JLA1) We jumped up in the air to see if we could stay in the air. We couldn't because gravity is pulling us to the ground. (Alessio JLA2) Pulling is in tug of war to pull the rope closer to me. Pedaling is pushing. (Nicolas JLA3)
I learnt that buildings that are not stable will crash from earthquakes than stable buildings. (Sophie JLA1) There are new ways you can make things. (Thomas JLA2) I learnt that there's different galaxies and they have black holes. (Michael JLA3)
