What a Term!

As I scroll through the hundreds of photos that have been taken this term to capture the living and learning of Curiosity ELC, I am overcome with a sense of pride and privilege.

Each photo captures one moment in time where an educator or child has been swept up by a driving emotion, whether that be; joy, amusement, wonder, intrigue, excitement, belief......the list is endless.  Even though these images capture the essence of what is happening in the physical, we know that there is so much more underpinning the cognitive processes within this moment of time.

"Progettazione evokes the idea of a dynamic process, a journey that involves uncertainty and chance that always arises in relationships with others.  Project work grows in many directions, with no predefined progression and no outcomes decided before the journey begins; it means being sensitive to the unpredictable results in children's investigation and research."  (Edwards et al., 2012, p.112)

As a team of educators, we are learning to embrace the uncertainty that comes with being truly convicted that the children of Curiosity ELC come with multiple ways of seeing their world and have the right to express their learning in ways that sometimes our limited adult brains can not conceive.  For this, I am grateful to be able to look back on Term 3 and celebrate the growth, the determination and the excitement for learning that has been sparked within our learning community.

I have been taken lately with Psalm 139, one that is often shared when giving expression to the beauty found within the creation of mankind and the intimacy of how God, the Creator knows his children.  In particular, versus 17 & 18:

"Your thoughts - how rare, how beautiful!  God, I'll never comprehend them!  I couldn't even begin to count them - any more than I could count the sand of the sea.  Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you!"

I resonant with these words as I reflect on Term 3, feeling grateful that we have much to celebrate, but I knowing there is much more to come as we rise each morning with our lives attuned to God's calling for our lives.

I look forward to launching into Term 4 with you all and seeing what other wonders we have to uncover with the children.

Today, we have officially said our 'well wishes' for Mrs Demi as she moves into her new Directorship role.  May God bless you and keep you, and make His face shine upon you and your new learning community Mrs Demi.  Thank you for leaving your 'specks of gold' with us.  This shall be part of your legacy you leave behind with us.

May God bless your holidays with a covering of safety, health and laughter.
