Leadership Report

As the end of another term approaches there has been plenty of reflection on the highlights and opportunities that learning at Magill School has provided.

Many of these have been captured in this Term’s episode of Inside Magill.

Make sure you grab a cuppa and find a comfy spot to sit back, relax and enjoy the 30 minute visual and entertaining journey through Term 3.

You will get a good picture of Chinese lessons, highlights of both camps that took place, Market Day adventures with the Year 6s, sports news and a farewell view of the about to be demolished Penfold building.

Samarbir, Kaveh, Dellron and Yara from F14 took up the opportunity to explain the benefits of the yearly held Market Day event to me earlier this week. They have really valued the chance to learn about business operations and develop their customer service skills. Their advice to future students is to be organised, have plenty of stock, work on presentation skills and think carefully about your advertising strategy, word of mouth and friendliness really help in spreading the word. The students were excited about this unit and the culmination of the Market Day stalls was highly valued by the younger students. It was a great opportunity to experience how to handle money.

Students at Magill are involved in many different and engaging learning opportunities, from videoing using green screen technology, creating animal enclosures after their visit to the zoo, and hands-on activities to develop depth of understanding of maths concepts.

The OSHC service said goodbye to Sam our OSHC Director last week. Anna Alfredsson has stepped into the Acting Director role until a new Director is appointed. She has a capable leadership team around her who will offer stability in the interim. They are all looking forward to Vacation Care over the next two weeks, with lots of varying activities and excursions planned.
