Visual Arts Wrap-up 2022
With classes back onsite this year at HPSC, the visual arts students had the opportunity to develop and refine their art-making skills without lockdown interruptions. As a tribute to their hard work and productivity we present this photo gallery of artworks created in the art rooms and school grounds. This selection of work is created by Enhance elective and VCE Studio Arts students. Most murals shown are still in production except for the multi-coloured heart which was completed in Term 3. Intended meanings for the heart mural include diversity, creativity and unity, fitting for its location on the exterior of the art rooms.
We look forward to seeing more creative student work in 2023 and to sharing it with the HPSC community.

VEX State Championship
On Saturday 12th November our senior VEX team, Rushil, Alex and Mack competed in the VEX State Championships at Copperfield College in Sydneham. After facing a challenging season they entered this really well prepared and had their robot ready for competition. With some engaging and clever fame strategy and Rushil's improved driving skills, they quickly climbed to 5th place in the rankings, securing a place in the finals. The finals saw them pitted against a highly experienced team who had the highest goal scoring robot of the season and this ended their chances of making the National Competition. The HP team demonstrated great sporting spirit and were a credit to our school. Well done!
SBAT Cert II Horticulture
Congratulations to our SBAT students who successfully completed a Certificate II Horticulture!
The students have worked extremely hard throughout the year, completing garden projects around the school with the major project being the Doctors in Schools garden.
Students presented ELT earlier in the year with a landscaping plan and successfully finished planting out the garden during term 4 which looks fantastic!
Thank you to the Horticulture trainers Craig and Mel from National Foods Institute for supporting our students throughout the year.
Formula One Incursion!
On Tuesday our year 8-10 students participated in the Flat Out Formula One Incursion where they made an almost full scale formula one racing car!
Working from detailed construction plans, each Formula 1 team had to rally their collective skills to turn a ‘flat-pack’ kit of materials into the ultimate cardboard driving machine and at the same time, create human-horsepower aiming for perfect synchronisation!
The session culminated in a HPSC Grand Prix where our teams tested their cars and raced to be the winner!
