State Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to our six students that competed at the State Athletics Carnival held at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park on Monday October 17.
A special mention to our 13 girls age group 4x100m relay team who won their event! A monumental achievement. Congratulations to relay team members; Juliet Mameghan, Tansy Grandage-Stone, Vieda Simons-Moemai and Ruby Ozougwu.
Other podium finishes at the carnival included:
Tansy Grandage-Stone - 3rd place in the long jump
Ruby Ozougwu - 3rd place in the 100m sprint
Well done also to our students who competed strongly in their events: Ruby Ozougwu (200m, Discus), Fatima Kodsi (1500m) and Thomas Georgiou (Shot Put). A fantastic achievement to have qualified for the state carnival after winning their respective events at both the division and region carnivals preceding it.
North Metro Region Finals
Well done to our various teams who have competed in the term 4 NMR finals following their division wins earlier in the year. Special mention to the Y8 boys cricket team that won all three games at their NMR pool round event. They have now qualified for the NMR Grand Final against Richmond High School to be played in early November.
The other teams to have competed at finals in term 4 are the Y9/10, Y8 and Y7 girls table tennis teams, as well as the Y8 girls volleyball team.
Darebin Division Sport
Futsal is the term 4 choice of sport for the division. These events are being played at Narrandjeri Stadium. The highlight so far has been our Y8 teams, with the boys winning their competition and the girls finishing as runners-up in their event!
