"Be The Best That You Can Be" - Celebrating Student Wellbeing and

Growth in Learning

Congratulations Class of 2022!!! - Celebration Day and Yr. 12 Last Day

The Year 12 students had fun on Tuesday 18th October with a modified uniform day. It was great to see glitter, pom poms, badges and much more added to their school uniforms. Tshirts and unfiorms were also signed by the cohort as mementos of their peers.

Wednesday 19th October was Celebration Day for the Year 12’s. Students arrived early in the morning with lots of varying costumes. There were photos taken in the VCE centre before students ran an Assembly in the gym. The Captains thanked the teachers for their support during their years of study at Wheelers Hill Secondary College. Then some funny Year 12 teacher awards were handed out including awards such as Mr G’s “Most likely to write a SAC about himself”.

Students then headed outside the VCE centre for a yummy BBQ. There was a large slip and slide and students had fun with water pistols. The day was beautiful and sunny which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. We wish all our Year 12 students the best for exams and future careers. We look forward to the final Year 12 celebration at the Valedictory Dinner on 22nd November.

Congratulations Krystal Berwick

On Monday 24th October, Mulgrave Country Club hosted its twentieth annual scholarship presentation.

Twelve local schools were each awarded a $2000 scholarship, presented by Dr Tien Kieu MP and club president, Peter Delaney. The scholarship was awarded to a worthy Year 11 student entering Year 12 studies. The criteria for the chosen recipient was not purely based on academic or sporting ability, but also financial hardship, personal sacrifice, citizenship and potential leadership.

The successful recipient from Wheelers Hill Secondary College was Krystal Berwick. Michelle Galli, Senior School Leader, was present at the Ceremony with Krystal’s family to acknowledge Krystal receiving her award.
