Remembrance Day

This Friday at 11.00 am we pause to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in war and global conflicts. On this day we give thanks for all those whose happiness, courage, resilience and breath have been claimed by war. We honour their memory, and we share the sorrow of those who mourn for them.

Our service will be led by a broad cross-section of our College community including our archivists, Mr Bruce Woods and Mr Graeme Rainbow, our long serving Christian Brother, Peter Flint, our parish Priest Fr Suresh, Old Virgilian and Head of Doyle House, Mr William Geeves and our Director of Music Mr Jack Machin who will play the Last Post and the Rouse. Significantly our Remembrance Day Service will include a diverse student representation, standing tall, with integrity as they symbolise the things that are important to them, such as emerging leadership, palawa histories, historical study and the pride felt by our young cadets in the Australian Defence Force.

Most of all, on this day, we celebrate peace as a universal principle and re-commit to building a better and hope filled world for all, founded on the Gospel values of justice, peace and love.
