Term 4 - Week 9

Threads and Textiles

Foundation students have been twisting, winding and wrapping, learning about the possibilities of wool and other threads to make soft sculptures.

They loved making these little chickens, inspired by our visitors in recent weeks.

Grade 1 and 2 students have been learning the fundamentals of sewing; weaving, folding, creating symmetry, learning how to thread a needle, manipulate felt and create pictures using things other than the traditional mark making materials.

Grade 3 and 4 have continued making their Pete Cromer Softees this week, completing their sewing and stuffing them ready to decorate next week. Take a look at their progress....

 

Grade 5 and 6 "Mini Me Art Dolls" have progressed beautifully. Characters are taking shape with heads and hands and clothes. Take a look at some of the dolls made this week...
