Magis report

On Tuesday, a group of delegates represented the College at the 2022 United Nations Voice Competition. Voice is a unique public speaking competition for students in Years 7 to 10. It invites students to solve issues that affect their community, nation, and the world. Year 10 student Thomas Syminton and Year 9 student Caleb Faulkner Hill considered how the government could encourage a fair transition to renewable energy for Australian industries. Year 10 students Meg Derbyshire and Felix Frichot, and Year 8 student Thomas Beach discussed what could be done globally to increase the resilience of healthcare systems. Whilst Year 9 student Luisa Parish examined how the international community could sustainably utilise resources in outer space. Our delegates were commended for their inspiring and innovative proposals. We congratulate these students on an outstanding achievement.

This will mark the culmination of many months of hard work and planning. We extend an invitation to the College community – staff, students, and parents – to come in celebration and support of our talented Year 7 Magis students.
