Change of School for 2023

If you are moving schools and won’t be at Banyan Fields PS in 2023 

Please email the office at banyan.fields.ps@education.vic.gov.au

This allows the school office time to prepare any documentation needed for your child’s new school. When transferring, a Student Exit Form is required to be completed and returned to the school office prior to your child transferring to a new school.

Current Banyan Fields PS Student Enrolment Information 

Have you changed any of the following details?

• Home address
• Email address
• Contact numbers (home / mobile / workplace) 
• Occupation and/or workplace
• Emergency contacts (in the case where parent/carers cannot be contacted) 
• Child’s living arrangements / Custody Orders / Parenting Orders / Intervention Orders
• Student medical condition and/or medication

Providing your child’s school with up to date family details is important for a number of reasons: 

• Contacting you when your child is ill or has had an accident;
• Emergency contacts and the preferred order for your emergency contacts;
• Knowing who can and can’t pick up your child from school (ie. custody restrictions);
• Recognising medical issues for your child (eg. Asthma, allergy), or any other medical condition when they present at Sickbay.

Please remember to provide Banyan Fields P.S. with any updated information as soon as your circumstances change.

To make changes to your child’s enrolment information, please email banyan.fields.ps@education.vic.gov.au with any required changes and/or request a Student Enrolment Information Form to be sent home with your child, where you can review the information currently on the school system, then make alterations where necessary and return to Banyan Fields PS office for details to be updated.

Sentral Parent Portal

Granting permission for your child's school activities through the Sentral Parent Portal.

Have you registered for a Sentral Parent Portal?  

Please email your details (parent name, child's name and grade) to banyan.fields.ps@education.vic.gov.au if you have not received a registration and access letter. The school office will organise one to be emailed to you as soon as possible.

Register for the Sentral Parent Portal and link to your child with the access key provide by the school office. 

Through the Sentral Parent Portal view your child's semester 1 & 2 school reports, give permission for school programs and activities, book parent teacher interviews and more.

Reporting Student Absences

If your child is sick or absent, you are required to notify their school as soon as possible on the day of absence using one of the following methods:

• Telephone the school office and press 1 for the absence line leaving a message with the following information; your child’s name, class, date of absences and reason.
• Email the school absence email absence@bfps.vic.edu.au and provide your child’s name, class, date of absences and reason.  

Notifying us of your child’s absence either prior to, or on the day that they will be away, helps ensure the safety and well being of your child. ​ Why do I need to notify the school if my child is absent?

Schools need to know when and why a child is absent and you need to know if your child isn’t at school. All Victorian government schools are required to contact parents/carers as soon as practicable on the same day of an unexplained student absence. If we haven't received notification by 11am, parents/carers will be contacted through either email or text message.
