Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Week 3

PrepL

Arya

For showing motivation and determination during the SMDP colour run on Friday! Arya encouraged her peers and set her focus on running as many laps as she could to get to her goal. Well done Ayra! 

PrepN

Ruvan

Ruvan showed us all what resilience (and a little bit more) looks like during the Colour Run on Friday. He took a big stack on his first lap and got hurt and he needed Rexi’s gentle care plus bandaids. Ruvan did not give up, but dug deep and came back to complete 20 laps. Well done Ruvan you set an inspirational example.

For being a motivated learner in Mathematics this week. You have worked hard to find all the possible solutions and showed your working out in an organised manner. Your determination to achieve success is inspiring to all those around you. Well done Aoife!

For being a resilient learner who bounces back when challenges arise. Tyler uses  effective strategies to manage his emotions. He does not let one challenge ruin his day and does his best to follow our WOWs in order to get his day back on track. I am really proud of how you managed your emotions this week Tyler, keep up that great attitude!

For being a motivated and collaborative learner who consistently pays attention to directions, is well organised and achieves her very best.  Joyce is a strong and kind member of our learning community who is able to apply all that she has learned to resolve differences fairly and effectively.  All your kindness and hard work make Prep N a happier place.  Well done Joyce!

For being a collaborative and resilient learner who bounced back and worked effectively with her table group after a difficult start. She showed fairness in the group task, valued others opinions and ensured everyone had a turn.
