Principal's Message

Our 50th year celebrations on both Sunday and Monday were such a success and a special time for our school community.

So many things have changed in our community in 50 years but so many things have also stayed the same.

50 years ago, no one had heard of the internet, owned electric cars, barracked for the Sydney Swans or lived in Williams Landing, however what we do still hold tightly is our love for our families, connection to community, our faith and wanting the best education for our children.

50 years ago SMDP was established by a small hard working committed group of parents who worked with the staff and priests to build something special for their children. Without this determination of this early community, SMDP school wouldn't be the place it is today.

This determination and commitment was once again witnessed on Sunday. Its success was due to the hard work and commitment of our staff and parents.

Special mention to Jan-Maree our art teacher, Jane our music teacher, Lucas our REL and Elise and Denise our Co-Deputy Principals. All of them, with the rest of our staff, worked tirelessly, to make life long memories for our students.

Another sincere thanks to our PIP group and  other parents who supplied cakes/slices, cooked and served the BBQ, as well as hosting our fancy morning tea.  Thanks to the parents who helped prepare, set up and pack up the Art Show.

Your contributions are truly appreciated.

Primary schools are not just about educating. They are about creating positive life long memories. At SMDP we strive to create special memories for our students and our 50 years is an opportunity for everyone who has been part of this school community to share and be proud of our achievements.

I am so proud to be part of this learning community celebrating 50 years together.

With thanks,

Dan Ryan

Principal
