INSPIRING CURIOUS MINDS

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Today we paused to remember Australians who have served in Australia’s Defence Forces. Two of our student executives, Jayla and Henry, beautifully recited the poem, In Flanders’ Fields, which helped us to understand the sentiment of the day. The Last Post was played and gave our community a time to reflect.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE DAY

Staff will be involved in the final Professional Practice Day for the year, on Monday, 19th December. This will be a student free day, with TheirCare available for those families who require care for the day. Our staff will be preparing for the arrival of their 2023 classes and will be planning learning programs ready for the new year, within professional learning communities.

FINA WORLD SHORT-COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS - MSAC

Construction of infrastructure for the championships will commence next week with the event running from the 13th to the 18th December at MSAC. An additional grandstand and merchandise stalls will be erected adjacent to the Kick off zone but will be completely fenced in and will not encroach on our external play space at all. The round-about which leads into the service road at the front of the school will remain open however there will be road closures adjacent to MSAC. With 700 athletes coming from over 180 countries, I hope that our community might get a chance to witness some world class athletes in action, right on our door-step.

STATE-WIDE TRANSITION DAY

The state-wide transition day is on Tuesday, 13th December. On this day, our year sixes will have an opportunity to visit their secondary schools. We will also hold a ‘within school’ transition day on the 13th when students will meet their new teacher. They will also meet their classmates and become familiar with their new learning space.
