In term 4 all grade levels had the opportunity to construct a toy in the Woodwork incursion, CRAFTPOWER.  Grades Prep – 2 did the ‘Just woodwork’ session and built an aeroplane. Grades 3 & 4 built a helicopter and grades 5 & 6 built a friction powered billy cart. The feedback from staff and students was very positive and we would welcome Anatoli from CRAFTPOWER to return next year.

All classes began the term becoming familiar working with paper, gluing and scissors. The expression and creativity the students have demonstrated has been wonderful to see. Artworks have been displayed in the corridor and will be sent home at the end of the year. Students are required to photograph their work and submit it to the online SHOWBIE folder.

Our next 4 weeks are devoted to exploring textiles. The senior grades are using needles and threads whilst the junior classes will be weaving paper and cloth.

During our textile group sessions, the student team made scarecrows representing the school values for the school vegetable garden and gave them to the junior school council to use at the Halloween disco.
