School Council

Dear Parents,

At our most recent school council meeting, the 'Pre-review Self-assessment' document was tabled for councillors. This document is the culmination of our recent staff, parent and student forums where information was collected from all stakeholders. This document now forms the basis for our school review, scheduled to take place in term one of next year. This review will chart our next four-year plan as we continue our improvement cycle. We will keep you posted on any updates that occur between now and then as well as further opportunities to contribute.

Also at our last meeting, we reviewed the scores of the 2022 Parent Opinion Survey. Whilst the response rate was lower than previous years, the results indicate our parent body is very pleased with how the school is progressing.  Of particular note were the following results:

Successes:

  • 97% of parents indicated we have 'High expectations for success';
  • 90% of parents suggest we 'Manage bullying' appropriately;
  • 87% of parents suggest we 'Promote positive behaviour';
  • 93% of parents acknowledge we have high 'Respect for diversity'; and
  • 87% of parents suggest the students have strong 'School connectedness'.

Areas for further investigation include:

  • 13% of parents suggested we could improve our 'School communication';
  • 13% of parents indicated we could improve 'School pride and confidence';
  • 11%  thought we could provide more 'Stimulating learning environments' ; and
  • 13% of parents stated their children had 'experienced bullying'.

Council will use these results to build upon what is working well, and obviously work to improve the areas of concern.

Regards,
