Acting Principal's Report

I acknowledge the First Peoples of our nation and the traditional custodians of the land on which our beautiful school stands, The Wathaurong people. I pay my respects to the Wathaurong people and acknowledge their contribution and care of the land and waters on which our school community works and lives. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge and thank all First Nations people within the Miners Rest School Community.

Connection with our Community

It was delightful to see so many families supporting our last school assembly onsite. We are so very fortunate to have incredibly spacious and beautiful school facilities to share, and we are very appreciative of the opportunities to invite families in to be with us and engage in our learning and significant events. Please keep your eye on the weekly newsletter to ensure that you are aware of events coming up this term that you can join in with us. We hope to see lots of families at our Book Week Parade next Friday, August 19.

100 Days at School

Speaking of significant events, our Foundation Team celebrated their 100 days of learning at school on Monday. Many little 100-year old people joined us at school to mark the occasion. A parade in the Kim barne Nitje Gymnasium was well attended by both families and Year 5/6 Buddies. We thank our families for supporting this very important milestone, and also acknowledge our Foundation teachers for planning such an enjoyable day for all to celebrate.
