Mr Trent Chapman
Welcome to Term 3. I hope the holidays have been a relaxing and enjoyable time for families, and I trust our students are well-rested and ready for a busy term.
The holidays saw large numbers of students and staff engaged in a range of activities:
Visual Arts and Textiles & Design students used the first week for working on their major projects. The quality of work coming through this year is outstanding. We look forward to seeing the major works on display at the annual exhibition on the evening of Friday 29 July.
The 2022 Ski Trip was a fantastic experience for our students. Conditions were excellent, as was the conduct of all students who attended. Staff have reported that our students were exceptional ambassadors for the School throughout their time on the slopes.
The Annual Cadet Promotions Camp involved over 100 students and staff participating in a residential camp focusing on leadership development and building the rank structure for the following year. Students participated in a range of activities including lessons on leadership, performing and teaching ceremonial drill and navigation skills in the field. The camp culminated in an outstanding parade which was designed and led by the senior leadership group.
School Musical – Guys and Dolls
This past week the intensive holiday rehearsal week took place for staff and students involved in the production of Guys & Dolls. It was a huge week with students rehearsing, singing and dancing in the DPA from 9am to 5pm each day. We have 71 students involved in the production this year from years 7 to 12. We would really love for as many of you as possible to come and see the show. It is very funny, colourful, full of catchy tunes, clever choreography and promises to a fun way to spend an evening. It is also a great chance to see the students in a different light, to see their passion and creativity and the many different talents they have.
Charlie Hall, Sam Martin and Toby Gough were interviewed on ABC radio about the musical, you can listen to their interview at the link below.
Congratulations to the follow students for their recent selections:
Arnie Tancred Year 12 – NSW Rugby Open Schoolboys 2nd XV
Erica Stuart Year 9 – Australian Polocrosse
Josie Clarke – U20 Girls National Youth Squad Touch Football.
