Athletics Carnival Announcement 

Friday, 19th August, is the Inter-House Athletics Carnival at the Head Street Oval.  

This is a compulsory school day for all students.   

Arrival: Students are to be at the venue no later than 8:15 so rolls can be marked, numbers can be given, and events can start at 8:30.   

Changes to High Jump: This year there is no Fosbury Flop allowed for High Jump due to Athletics Australia Guidelines.  

Participation: There is a compulsory Run, Jump and Throw. All students must attempt 100m sprint, Long Jump and Shot Put.  

A few reminders for everyone:  

Bring your lunch and recess as no canteen facilities will be available  

Bring your House spirit 

Bring a water bottle and hat as it will be warm  

Ensure you apply sunscreen throughout the day  

Wear House shirts no interschool shirts  

Finish time:  

The carnival will aim to be finished at 2:50 so please arrange to have your child collected from Head Street Oval as students will be dismissed from there.   

Bus: 

A bus for those who require it will be leaving St Philip’s at 8:10am to Head St and returning to the College by 3:00 pm when the carnival is finished.
