What's going on in

STEM?

The Design Engineering Academy have spent this term exploring all things biotechnology. From virtual and actual heart dissections to robotic prosthetic limbs, the students have had to advance their knowledge and skills in all areas of STEM.

One of the highlights so far in the program has been an excursion on RMIT university. Thanks to our partnership, we were able to create a tailored experience for our students to explore the frontiers of medicine. Students learnt about the applications of advanced manufacturing in the field of biotechnology from Associate Dean Kate Fox and also visited the BioFab3D lab at St Vincent's hospital to understand how medical professionals and engineers are working together to create innovative solutions such as 3D printing living tissue.

We look forward to seeing how our students leverage these experiences in their projects next term.
