National Science Week

13th - 21st August

Happy National Science Week!

Throughout Science Week, 13th to 21st August, we celebrated everything science. Students had the opportunity to watch some science-based films and attended biodiesel presentations. Students also got to meet some of our past students who are currently pursuing a science degree. We also had fun making ice-cream!

Brain Break Coffee

We had a really good turnout for our Brain Break Morning. Many of us enjoyed a great coffee thanks to teacher, Anthony Nardi, who is skilled at coffee making. We had a bit of fun at Science Trivia with teacher, Kyra Fennell, as the host!

Biodiesel Presentation

Our science student presenters have been hosting biodiesel presentations about their sustainability project during Science Week for their peers and staff. Many students were impressed by what our Sustainability Heroes have achieved. Those students involved have gained so much from the biodiesel experiment experience.

"I personally enjoyed the process of all of us working together and contributing ideas to come to a successful conclusion, through trial and error. As well as how our experiment tied really well with what we're doing in class. " ~ Juhee Uday

"As I helped with the filming process of our project, I felt a sense of community and connection with my fellow peers as we worked together through our common interest which is the environment. It was definitely an eye-opening experience showing the power of youth in science to change the world and influence one another. " ~ Julie Makhlouta

Bachelor of Science - Ex TSC Students Visit

We were so fortunate to have some of our past students visit us during National Science Week to tell us about their journey and experience in pursuing a science degree at some prestigious universities. Thank you to Ismahan Hassan, Hannaa Hakedin, Aicha Aljane, Alem Giday, Clarenz Joy and Apshita Farah for coming back to Tarneit Senior College to share your experiences of university learning.

Many students were so engaged, asking questions, and listening intently to these presenters.
