'In a world where you can be anything, be kind.'
We acknowledge family school partnerships as critical in supporting every student to achieve success and growth. Within this context, all learners are known and understood and provided with opportunities to engage in enriching learning experiences. A Program Support Group (PSG) should be established when the need is identified, to guide the planning and implementation of adjustments and interventions to enable the best learning outcomes for the student.
A PSG is a partnership between the student, parent/guardian/carer(s), school representatives and, where relevant, invited professionals and Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School (MACS) personnel. The aim of a PSG is to ensure that those with the most knowledge of, and responsibility for, the student, work together to establish shared goals for the student’s program.
As a key member of the group, you can help make decisions about your child’s learning, development, and wellbeing. The meeting includes sharing student’s successes, reviewing goals and actions, and collaborating on new goals.
Meetings will be held in 20 to 30 minute time slots and the frequency is guided by need and is adjusted to cater for changing information and student presentation.
We ask for your understanding in adhering to the allocated dates each term, as we invest in releasing the appropriate staff. As you can see, these meetings are very important and involve the coordination of a number of staff and a substantial financial and time commitment in order to personalise the learning for your child.
Making lunch times extra special!
We have a variety of lunch clubs our students can attend to learn, socialise with groups of multi-age students, 'take a break' from the playground or try something new. Lunch Clubs provide students with other options and an opportunity to foster social skills.
