We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 7 at Lilydale High School. The Junior School Office has an open-door policy and students are welcome to come in and discuss any queries or concerns they may have.
We have sporting equipment for students to borrow during recess and lunch and a number of lunchtime activities for students to participate in.
On Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 February Parent/Carer Morning teas were held and parents and carers had the opportunity to meet with their child's teachers and discuss how they were settling in.
The Year 7s also had their Thriving in Community sessions on these days, where they learned about our school values, their rights and responsibilities and upcoming opportunities in Year 7.
Parents/Carers, if you wish to meet with a Year 7 Coordinator, it is recommended to call and make an appointment first, as Coordinators are often teaching or dealing with student issues.
We look forward to a rewarding year ahead.
The Year 7 Phillip Island camp is coming up later this term, March 27-29 for 7A-G and March 29-31 for 7H-O.
Students will get to participate in a range of fun activities including mini golf, the penguin parade and the giant swing!
Captain applications for Year 7 are closing soon. Applications need to be in by Wednesday 1 March.
Thank you to everybody who has applied so far - keep an eye out as interviews are to follow.
The first week back from holidays was wonderful. It was so good to catch up with friends and teachers again, as well as meeting some of the new Year 7s. Not to mention our own schooling, getting back in the classroom with new teachers.
One highlight would definitely be getting our ‘Ready to Cook’ licences in Food Studies or even getting our heart rate up in P.E, plus learning all of the cool things we would get up to this year.
With all the clubs starting up again and the swimming and sports carnivals, this year is sure going to be a good one.
So far it has been a great start to the year with so many new projects and opportunities to come. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

After 6 weeks of holidays away from friends, it's that time of the year to reconnect and make new friends.
As the year of 2023 comes to a start, we have a year full of events to be excited about. We have so many amazing things to look forward to; like new classes to try out, sports carnivals, camps, student free days and our Wellbeing Day. I can’t wait to do ceramics and cooking to start off my new subjects for this year.
With our Year 8 camp coming up halfway through the year, there will be lots of fun and new activities for the Year 8’s to enjoy with peers.
I hope everyone has had a great first few weeks back and has an enjoyable rest of the year.

It is such a privilege to have all these amazing school activities like the Zoology Centre, and lunchtime clubs such as Gamer Club, Chess Club, Steam Club and Lego Club. The Athletics Day and Swimming Carnival are just two of the many events we have this year.
The school swimming carnival held last week was a friendly competition and was filled with games and Year 12’s dressing up. It was so much fun!

Last week, Cerys Jones of Year 8 went to Nagambie and Canberra to participate in canoe polo, as a member of the Australian Development Squad, Under 18’s, and the Fairfield Canoe Club Women’s Team.
We wish Cerys all the best at these events.
At Lilydale High School we have plenty of choices when it comes to lunchtime activities.
The activities fill a need for students who wish to try out and experience something new, learn new skills, meet up with other students from different year levels, make new friends, develop teamwork and become more independent.
When the lunchtime bell sounds......there are plenty of activities to choose from!
