SCIENCE
Year 8 SEALP
During Week 2, students worked on their 'independent investigations' to review variables in Science; Mass and pendulum periods; Toy cars on different materials or the effect of heat when dissolving solids.
The students started with a 'Think, Pair, Share' about the topic of Energy. We have also reviewed our understanding of heat energy, with a collaborative board game and investigated the energy transformation of toys - thanks to Ms Barr.
A fantastic start to the year with these legends.
8J Science
Students from 8J were working with household equipment to understand the transformation of energy this week in Science - we also played with some cool toys lent to us by our resident physics guru Ms Barr.

Unit 3 & 4 Biology
Ms Callinan's Unit 3 & 4 Biology students creating their own individual SNORKS. They created them via the process of Transcription and Translation - as you can see, they are just as creative, as they are brilliant. So much fun!

GTAC Excursion
On Tuesday 14 February, the Unit 1 Biology students went to GTAC to explore microscopy as part of their studies. They used microscopes to find and photograph pond life including Paramecium and Rotifers, and a Fluorescence microscope to view the parts of the cell in colour. It was such a great experience for all.
