School Council Elections

Voting is now open for Parent Members

An election is to be conducted for members of the school council of Hillsmeade Primary School.

We have four (4) parent position vacant for our 2023 school council, and we received seven (7) nominations, so we will be holding an election for those positions. Voting opened Monday Feb 20, and closes at 4pm on Monday Feb 27.

The Candidates

Each candidate has provided a brief profile as an introduction – please see the attached document containing the candidate profiles.

How To Vote

All parents/carers/guardians of students at Hillsmeade are entitled to vote in the parent category, unless they are a Dept of Education employee working at Hillsmeade. DE employees at other schools who are parents/carers/guardians at Hillsmeade are entitled to vote.

We have sent home one ballot paper per family with the eldest child in each family. More ballot papers are available at the office for additional parent/carers/guardians. Ballot papers are not available electronically. Instructions on how to complete and submit the ballot are on the ballot paper.

To lodge your ballot you will need to do one of:

  1. Bring your completed ballot inside a blank envelope in person to the school office (8.30am-4pm). We will mark your name off the voter roll as you put your ballot in the ballot box.
  2. Put your completed ballot inside a blank envelope, and then put that blank envelope inside a second envelope. Write your name & child’s name on the outer envelope and have it delivered to the school admin office before 4pm Monday Feb 27.

These requirements are in place because ballots are anonymous, but we must mark your name off the voter roll to ensure no person votes more than once.
