Reading in Prep-Year 2 2023– Little Learners Love Literacy

At HPS in 2023 we will be implementing an approach in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 called Little Learners Love Literacy (LLLL) to build phonological awareness and phonics that support children to read and write.

We have almost finished cataloguing and covering all our new decodable take home readers.  A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers that have assisted.  

In the coming weeks, student may bring home phonics books articulating the phonemes (sounds)  and graphemes (written symbol) they are working on as well as words they can decode to practise. Students will also commence bringing home decodable readers at their level.
