From the Principal

Welcome to Week 3

It was wonderful to see so many here for the “Meet the Teacher” evening last week.  After looking around the learning spaces, a large number of parents joined staff for a 45 minute presentation from Bill Hansberry.  A big thank you to Simone Stillitano, the new Chairperson of the Community Group, for organising food and refreshments.  It was a great way to start the year.

At today’s Assembly, we officially welcomed our new student community members, not only those joining us in Reception but from across all year levels.  A big welcome to all of our new students and their families who will add to the rich tapestry of St Gabriel’s School life.

Unfortunately, the Capital Development Project has required further Diocesan approval as the costs escalate beyond the original approval levels.  This should not be an issue, it is more of an annoyance with the starting date being pushed back.  I will let the community know as soon as the starting date has been sent.

Our year 5 and 6 cohorts spent a fabulous time at the beach earlier this week, participating in “aquatic activities”, such as sailing, snorkelling and paddle boarding. The remainder of the school will be partaking in swimming lessons at the end of the term.

Have a great week
