F/1/2 News

The F/1/2 students have had an amazing two weeks of learning. They have all been working really hard and improving greatly.

In English, we have started learning about spelling patterns and the different sounds that letters can make through the SMART spelling process. We have also been developing our phonemic awareness skills, such as rhyming, 1-to-1 correspondence, and phoneme manipulation, through daily verbal practice.

In Maths, we have been learning about numbers and will continue to focus on this for the next two weeks. The students have been exposed to different numbers through our daily routines, such as analysing the date and how many days we have been at school, as well as through structured activities in Maths lessons.

In Religion, we have begun our unit called “I am special, so are you”. We have begun investigating how we are unique and special in the eyes of God, our family, and friends. This week we have been looking at our name and how that is part of our identity. The students have been encouraged to ask their families how they got their name.
