Sport

With the school year underway sporting events will be commencing shortly. The main form of communication in regards to sport in the College, Diocese and NSW Combined Catholic College trials is through the MCC Sport Google classroom page. The google classroom code for this is jr2454.

The following competitions will be commencing shortly.

  • Any boys or girls from Years 7-12 wishing to play in the Wednesday night High School's Tamworth  Basketball competition please put your name down at the window at the back of the staffroom. The competition is due to start on Wednesday 22 February. 
  • Students from Years 7-12 interested in playing in a free 4 week Monday night High School hockey competition please put your name down on the sheets at the back of the staffroom. The first round will commence on Monday 13 March. 
  • Any year 7 boys or girls wishing to play in a Friday afternoon 20/20 cricket competition from 4pm please put your name down at the back of the staffroom. Please register via the link MCC: https://tinyurl.com/yr7cricket2023MCC This competition will commence Friday 10 February.
  • Any boys or girls wishing to play for McCarthy in the Armidale Diocesan under 15 Touch Football trials please put your name down at the window at the back of the staffroom. The competition will take place Thursday 9 March in Inverell.
  • Any representative U18s Touch Football players who are interested in trying out for Touch they'll need to complete this nomination form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmh6tQS3qLxPQcDj6X5QHFTUswUvsnyyv-x9bjDe6H-A-jTg/viewform

Students are reminded that completing the form doesn't mean they'll be attending the trial at Toormina on Tuesday Feb 21 & they should not register until instructed to do so. The cost to attend the selections at Toormina will be $40. Nominations close February 9 & successful applicants will be notified the following day.

The College Swimming carnival will be held Thursday 23 February. Students wishing to enter the following early swimming events; 100m freestyle, 50 metre butterfly,  4x50 Individual Medley and 100m breaststroke must pre-register by writing their name down on the sheets at the back of the staffroom ; the last day for registration is Friday 17th February. Those students registered will be transported to the pools via the college buses from 12:30pm. 

 

We have a number of NSWCCC Sport Selection events this term which are by individual student nomination. Listed below are these events and close dates.  NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE CLOSE DATE.

We will be posting social media updates as these dates approach. Look out for our Facebook and Instagram posts. More information for each sport is available on our website - csnsw.sport

  • NSW ALL SCHOOLS INDIVIDUAL TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIPS - Boys & Girls @ Penrith 23 February  CLOSE DATE: 15 February
  • NSWCCC TENNIS SELECTIONS - Boys & Girls  @ North Parramatta 27 February   CLOSE DATE: 17 February
  • NSWCCC BASEBALL SELECTIONS - @ Castle Hill   7 March  CLOSE DATE: 24 February
  • NSWCCC GOLF SELECTIONS - Boys & Girls @ Argenton (Newcastle)  14 March  CLOSE DATE: 3 March

Parents who do not have a Catholic sport NSW  account will need to log onto https://csnsw.sport/ and click on create an account and follow the prompts.
