Tennis

BMGS Tennis – Round 10

This was our last round before the doubles championships this coming weekend and the singles championships the weekend after.

We were lucky to be able to play again at Lithgow, which meant less travelling time.  In this round, First played Second, Third played Fourth, Fifth played Sixth and Seventh played Eighth. Our Odds team was placed 4th and our Evens team was placed 8th.

Our Odds team had a win against the higher ranked team of Scots All Saints Evens with a score of 13 sets to 7. There were wins for Jesse, David, Otto and Jed in the singles matches as well as wins in the doubles to Jesse and David, and Raph and Otto. For Raph and Otto, it was a nice way to finish the season.

Our Evens team was down to only three players, so they did well in the games that were played. St Stanislaus Evens team won 14 sets to 6. Neil and Alex had wins in both their singles and doubles. Congratulations Alex on his third win in a row, and to Neil who has won all his singles matches since joining the team.

Thank you to all the tennis players for a wonderful season and for their commitment to the sport. It has been wonderful having tennis again at BMGS and to be part of the inaugural ISA Tennis team. Thank you to Jesse, Neil, David, Eladie, Raph, Alex, Otto, Noah, Hugo L, Marlowe, Jed, Hugo H and Lee. I hope to see many of you again in third term for trials for the next season.

Girls' Touch Football

Division 1 Firsts

In our final games of the season, the team showed great sportsmanship and teamwork, playing with energy and enthusiasm until the final whistle. It was clear that the girls had put in a lot of hard work and dedication throughout the season, and their efforts paid off with a resounding victory, and a narrow loss. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the players for their commitment and dedication this season. It has been a pleasure to watch the girls develop their skills, work together as a team, and achieve some great things.

Sadly, we must also say farewell to our Year 12 students who will be leaving us this year. I would like to thank them for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to the team over the years. They have been an inspiration to all of us, and we are confident that they will continue to achieve great things in the future.

Intermediate B Girls

Throughout the season, the team has consistently shown great improvement, both in terms of technical ability and strategic play. We have seen the girls work hard to develop their passing, catching, and technical skills, as well as their communication and teamwork on the field.

It is also worth noting that the team's dedication and hard work has paid off with some impressive results throughout the season. We have seen the girls play some tough opponents and come away with some impressive victories. It is clear that they have put in a lot of time and effort into honing their skills, and their hard work will certainly pay dividends in the future.

Looking ahead to next season, we are excited about the potential of our Girls' Touch Football program at BMGS. With so many talented young athletes on our Intermediate team, we are confident that the future of Girls' Touch Football at our school is bright. We hope to see more and more young girls get involved in the sport and continue to develop their skills.

Junior C Girls

We are thrilled to report that our Junior Girls' Touch Football team has had an outstanding season and will progress to the finals! It has been an exciting journey so far, and we are confident that our young athletes will continue to perform at their best in the upcoming games.

Throughout the season, the team has demonstrated great progress and improvement, both individually and as a team. They have shown an impressive commitment to training and have worked hard to develop their technical and strategic skills on the field.

We look forward to seeing our Junior Girls' Touch Football team compete in the finals this weekend, as they continue to represent our school with pride and passion.

Boys' Touch Football

Division 3 Senior Boys

We are excited to report that the senior boys' touch football team has advanced to this weekend's semi-finals! The team has been working hard all season, dedicating themselves to improving their skills, and showing great determination in their games.

Last week, they faced a tough opponent in the last round game, and unfortunately lost their way on the day. The Semi-Finals will take place this weekend, and we want to wish the Senior Boys' Touch Football team the best of luck. They have shown great effort and commitment, and we have no doubt that they will give it their all on the field. We encourage all parents and supporters to come to Macquarie University  and cheer them on as they compete for a spot in the Grand Final.

Junior C Boys

We are thrilled to congratulate the Junior Boys' Touch Football team on a successful first season representing BMGS! Throughout the season, the team has shown great improvement and passion for the sport. They have worked tirelessly at practice, developing their skills and strategies to become a competitive team. As they prepare for this Semi-Finals this weekend, we want to wish the Junior Boys' Touch Football team the best of luck. They have come a long way this season, and we have no doubt that they will continue to work together and give it their all on the field. Their commitment to improving and their positive attitude towards the sport is a credit to themselves and the school.

We again encourage all parents and supporters to come out and cheer the team on as they compete for a spot in the finals. Once again, congratulations to the Junior Boys' team on their success this season, and we wish them all the best in the upcoming game.
