MPavilion Excursion

Finding design inspiration in experimental architecture

Last week the Unit 3 & 4 Visual Communication Design classes went into the city to visit the 2022 MPavilion, designed by Bangkok-based architecture and design practice, all(zone).  MPavilion is Australia’s leading architecture commission—a cultural laboratory where the community can come together to engage and share. This year's Pavilion explores the possibilities of fabric-based architecture.

MPavilion is an ongoing initiative of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation and is supported by the City of Melbourne and State Government of Victoria through Creative Victoria.

A former Northcote High staff member- Andrew Atchison is now the Education Manager of MPavilion, and he facilitated an interesting discussion for us.

Students are currently working on their own MPavilion designs that include a chair and accompanying logo. Keep an eye out for their finished designs at the end of term around -C block.
