Book Review
Book title: All The Bright Places
Author: Jennifer Niven
About the book: This book is about a teenage boy named Theodore Finch and his project partner, best friend, girlfriend, Violet Markey. Finch is strange, geeky and fascinated by death. Violet lives for the future and is counting the days until she can leave their small town after graduation. When they meet, on the bell tower at school - which is six stories above the ground, it isn’t obvious who saved who. They then pair up for a school project, exploring the beauty of their state. It is soon that Finch’s mental state starts going downhill; only Violet makes him happy. ‘As Violet’s world begins to grow, Finches begins to shrink.’ This is a gut-wrenching story about a boy who teaches a girl to live, as he begins to fade away.
Why I enjoyed the book: I particularly enjoyed this book because I loved the raw emotion in the author’s words and the heartfelt connection between the characters. I felt involved within the book and found it hard to put down, not wanting it to end.
