FRENCH

Bonjour tout le monde!

Comment allez-vous? (How are you?)

With the students in Prep, Prep/1, 1/2 and 2/3 back at school, we are able to do a revision of the vocabulary learnt at home since the beginning of Term 2. For the younger ones, we are focusing on fruits and vegetables. Students in Grades 1/2 and 2/3 are revising breakfast food. They will work on their portfolio tasks in the next couple of weeks.

From Grade 2/3 to Grades 5/6, the students are learning how to translate 'the', 'a' and 'some' in French. The understanding of  this basic grammatical concept is necessary for them to be able to produce simple sentences. Here are the three tables that all students in these grades have been revising for a few weeks. Each student will be given a copy of these tables in the next couple of weeks. Their homework will be to memorise and understand how to use the following 8 words: le, la, les, un, une, du, de la, des.

Students in Grades 2/3 and 3/4 will start learning a new French song very soon.

It is called, Tout Oublier, which means ‘forget everything’.  Angèle is one of the most famous singers in France at the moment but she is actually from Belgium, where people speak French too. Here is a link for you to get a sneak peek of the song:
