2020 THEME - EMPOWERING LEARNING &
TEACHING
Learning from home has prompted our school community, to collectively use and adapt important features of our existing school model, to enable home and on-site curriculum delivery to effectively take place.
The implementation of a Term 2 Flexible and Remote Learning model could not be achieved without the dedication, support and resilience of all members of the Jacana School for Autism community.
Term 2 Guidelines for Flexible and Remote Learning
While on-site provision has been provided to children of parents who cannot work from home or vulnerable children, Jacana School for Autism have ensured that our guidelines, protocols and procedures for Flexible and Remote Learning, supports the learning needs of all students.
Our Term 2 Guidelines for Flexible and Remote Learning, provides staff with an operating model that promotes learning continuity during home and on-site teaching and learning. Aspects of the contingency plan includes:
- home and on-site learning programs are equal
- communication protocols between teachers and families are implemented and maintained
- student health, wellbeing and engagement is monitored and sustained through various communication platforms including email, See-Saw and Webex
- submission of student work is recorded regularly, with records retained
- students will have access to a range of online and offline options to demonstrate their learning
- a daily learning program will include a range of activities that link to student’s Personalised Learning Support Plan (PLSP) goals. This includes literacy, numeracy and additional Curriculum areas
- students provided with ‘opt in’ activities that leverage the home environment – e.g. counting items in the house, simple science experiments, measuring activities
- for students who do not have access to digital technologies at home, JSA will loan existing devices
Assessment & Feedback during Flexible and Remote Learning
JSA Ensures:
