Wellington Shire Youth Council 

 APPLICATIONS OPEN

The Wellington Shire Youth Council is an active group who represent and promote the voice of young people aged 12 – 25 across the Wellington shire. They assist local government to understand the needs of young people, and learn how to advocate effectively the opinions, issues and concerns of their peers.  Youth Councillors also run a number of key events each year within our community, and have support to achieve their goals.

 The Youth Council year runs July – June, and young people are able to stay on for a maximum of 2 consecutive years.  

 There are 8 vacancies we would like to fill, and we are looking for representation across all demographics – applicants need to have a passion for their community, and interest in learning and building their leadership skills. 

 I’m happy to answer any questions anyone might have – or pass on the details of a current Youth Councillor to answer the questions.
