REMOTE LEARNING- Inter House Athletics Day 2020

Something a little different this year with our Inter House Athletics Day…..it was held remotely!!!

Students were encouraged to ‘attend’ dressed in House colours. The program commenced at 10 am when the students logged onto the Maffra Whole School Team and opened their relevant House Page.

House Captains spoke to their team via the TEAM platform, explained the various events which were to be held throughout the day and introduced the students to their chant.

There was both competitive and novelty activities for throwing, jumping, sprint and long distance challenges. Within each event there were 3 different activities or challenges in which the students could participate. Throwing (paper plane creation and throwing, throwing a shoe with socks tucked in it and flipping a bottle onto its base), jumping (dancing which involved jumping moves, skipping and jumping in a sleeping bag) and sprint (aerobic challenges) and long distance events (15 minutes of walking, running, cycling).

After lunch there was a House chant competition.

It was fantastic to see the House Captains leading their house on this challenging event. It was also fantastic to see the involvement from a number of students who completed every event – especially a number of the Year 8 students.
