Parent and Community

2A had a busy afternoon in the garden collecting and relocating white grubs. In our hunt for these little greedy grubs that eat our new plants we managed to aerate the soil ready for some planting on Friday. We were very grateful to find loads of squirmy worms helping our soil.

We have also started repurposing the staff’s non-recyclable coffee cups, instead of throwing them away we are using them to plant plants

This is a great way to pay it forward to our environment and an easy activity for everyone.

CSPS Enrolments

City of Casey Competition

The City of Casey is running a competition that we hope will be of interest to CSPS.

From Monday 15 June until Tuesday 30 June, Council is challenging Casey families to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.   During isolation, many Casey families found the extra time and motivation to get moving and exercise more regularly - we want them to keep up the good work and not let the momentum slow.

Increased active travel to and from school also has a positive impact on traffic & parking at peak times for schools.  We hope that by encouraging families to regularly walk, ride or scoot all or part of the way will also assist with reducing traffic congestion around school.

Here is the link to the competition.

The competition involves families taking a selfie on their active route to or from school and posting it.   In line with cyber safety, we advise parents that when sharing photos, they should avoid capturing features which obviously identify their child’s school, such as their emblem or signage.

Council is committed to working with schools and the community on active travel & road safety initiatives, including delivery of the Walk to School program and the new Safe Around Schools program due to commence later 2020.
