Sunbury District Athletics

Our interschool Athletics event was early this year due to the Sunbury track scheduled for renovations soon. An all weather track will be a great asset for future years.

Congratulations to all our students that proudly represented St Annes at the sports.

We came a very close third in the overall result in both track and field events which is an awesome effort!

Students who came first in their events will go onto the Division Sports later in the year when we will list our team.

Trials for Cross Country will be held this Friday afternoon to get us  ready for our next event Friday May 5. Venue to be advised.

Report from Liam Murray(6 Gold)

The day started off with the 800 metres. We did pretty well in that category. We had a few seconds and a first. Then the field events started, the shot put, long jump, discus, high jump and triple jump. The field events went well and we got a few first place ribbons. But then at midday the track events started, the 100m, 200m, Hurdles and 4x100m relay. We did very well in the track events, winning a lot of first place ribbons. I came first in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay which was very exciting. Nerves were high among the St Annes line as we waited for our turn. Many kids were scared of dropping the batten in the relay. But as we all got running, the nerves seemed to disappear. We did quite well in the relays and the last event of the day. The results came out and we came third overall out of the big schools. A pretty good achievement. It was overall an entertaining day for us all.
