Sustainability News

The SMPS Sustainability team is very excited to share that our school has begun recycling used whiteboard markers and pens!

SMPS has joined BIC's 'Best In Class' Recycling Program with Terra Cycle. This means we can avoid sending our used whiteboard markers and pens to landfill! After we have sent them to be recycled, the used writing instruments are cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.

We're also excited to share that members of our school community can bring in used markers and pens to be recycled through this program.

Please see below the items we can accept:

If you'd like to take part in the initiative please bring any of the above items to the school office where we will have a collection bin.
