Hockey

Calrossy has a number of teams participating in the Tamworth Hockey pre-season schools competition. The introductory ‘come and try’ competition is a great opportunity for our school hockey players to play for Calrossy.

Cricket

Our Year 10/11 Cricket Team finished their season on Monday with a loss to Farrer. The team was depleted with our Year 10 students away on Camp. Thanks to Mrs Evans for her continued support of the team.

The Year 8/9 Cricket team played their Grand Final at Riverside 3 last week. Facing a strong Carinya outfit, Calrossy bowled first with Charlie Pickens tying up the openers with some tight bowling (3 overs 0 - 4). Alex Ingall and Hudson Clunas dismissed the openers before having to contend with the competition in form batsmen. Quinn McGill bounced back from a tough over to take a crucial wicket as a partnership was building. Carinya finished on 117 as the overs ran out. Calrossy went to work with Toby Ireland and Alex Ingall putting on 21 runs against a strong opening attack. Charlie Pickens came in and batted Calrossy into the contest (39 not out) supported by Henry Ingall and Max Brown. The game headed to an exciting finish with Calrossy needing 18 from the last two overs. Pushing themselves to the limit, the boys went down 9 runs short in a great finish.

Special Thanks to Mr Pickens for his ongoing coaching, scoring, and sport of the team, and to Mrs Evans, Mr Clunas, and Mr Reilly for their scoring and support of the team. We are grateful to the parents for their assistance with the team.
