Learning and Teaching

NAPLAN

This week our year 3 and year 5 children started NAPLAN.  This will conclude on Monday 20th March.  The data that we gather from these assessments are used amongst an array of other assessments we facilitate with children - NAPLAN is only one piece of the pie.

We wish our children all the best and look forward to sharing these results with you later in the year.

Congratulations to our grade 3 and grade 5 students on completing Naplan for another year.

In literacy this week we have a big focus on fluent reading. In order to read fluently, children need to read accurately, effortlessly, with comprehension and at a reasonable rate. All four factors need to be present in order to identify a student as a fluent reader.

Some things you can do at home to support your child reading fluently is by: recording them read and playing it back, listening to reading using online story books or listening to an adult read.
