GROW Awards

GROW Awards are being awarded weekly across the school this term. Each Grow Award is added to their faction’s overall tally. Students are striving to be the leading faction by the close of Week 9, so they can win the end-of-term Faction Reward.

Faction Captains from the winning faction will decide what the reward will be, which will be held in Week 10. Teachers will be looking for the expected behaviours and all students have an opportunity to contribute to their faction’s overall tally!

GROW Awards are linked to Burrendah’s 4 R’s; Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Reach. These behaviour expectations are taught and modelled through the PBS curriculum.

PBS Expectations

The PBS behaviour expectation for Week 9 is RESPONSIBILITY. We demonstrate this behaviour everywhere/every time when we look after all property. This means

  • We return sports equipment after recess and lunch
  • We ask permission to enter the sports shed and borrow equipment
  • We ask teachers to get iPads and laptops
  • We make sure our stationary and books are kept in good order

The PBS behaviour expectation for Week 10 is RESPONSIBILITY. We demonstrate this behaviour inside when we follow classroom expectations. This means

  • We pack up and return our equipment
  • We borrow correctly and return library books on time
  • We use technology carefully
  • We ask permission to leave the classroom
