HELLO FROM 2 / 3  MS KENNEDY

LITERACY

In writing our class has been doing lots of reading and sharing great stories to help us write more descriptively. We have been building our vocabulary by looking at adjectives, verbs and sensory language and using them in our writing. After reading Schnitzel Von Krumm's 'Basketwork' by Lynley Dodd, our task was to choose our 'perfect place' and describe it so that the reader could picture it in their mind.  Here are some of our descriptions of our 'Perfect Place'.

'Outside' By Ana

I like outside because it smells very nice and fresh. I like to chase my dog around. I can always hear the wind and the birds chirping and sometimes the plants and flowers feel and smell so good. I can be fun to look at all the stuff outside. Something I like is to read and see the birds and other animals. and I can play a bit of sport. I like being outside.

'The Loungeroom' By Elton

I love the loungeroom, it is spacious. My Nintendo is there, and it has a TV. It is calming and I like listening to my dad working on something while I play my game or watch TV. The loungeroom is one of my favorite places to be, it makes me happy.

'Outside' by Henil

I love to go outside and feel the breeze on my face in summer. It smells so fresh as the wind hits my face. The sun feels so warm on a summer's day. I love the smell of flowers and the fresh air on my face. There are trees everywhere around me and there are bushes all around me.

MATHS

In Maths we looked at transformations this week. We were learning to slide, flip, turn shapes and objects. For one of our activities, we had to trace letters and numbers and then slide, flip and turn them.  What transformations do you think are happening with these shapes?
