Meet our Leadership team.

Hi, my name is Danielle Wadley and I am the Disability Inclusion Coordinator and a member of our School Improvement Leadership Team.

As Disability Inclusion Coordinator my role is to ensure students with additional needs are engaged in education and meeting their learning goals. To do this, I work collaboratively with the school’s leadership team, classroom teachers, our ES team, well-being staff and other Department staff (such as Student Support Services) to create a team around the learner.

Some of my roles and responsibilities around the school include:

  • Advocating for students with disability and additional needs, creating inclusive learning environments.
  • Ensure all students who require further support with their learning have a quality individual education plans (IEP). This includes students who are Koorie or in out of home care as well.
  • Establish student support groups which include teachers and families of students on IEPs to meet each term to set goals and discuss progress, making sure student voice is included.
  • Act as a source of advice for staff about differentiated teaching strategies and adjustments that can be made within the classroom and school, appropriate for individual students with additional needs.
  • Promote the implementation of all elements of Disability Inclusion at the school. This includes different levels of funding to support students.
  • Liaise with the school’s Student Support Services, discussing assessments or adjustments to help individual students.
  • Supporting the organisation of Disability Inclusion Profile meetings for individual students receiving additional support.
  • Among other things that keep me very busy :)

I really enjoy working within this role at Bendigo Violet Street Primary. I am passionate about inclusion and providing the best education for all students of all backgrounds.

If you would like to get in contact with me, feel free :) my email is Danielle.Wadley@education.vic.gov.au or pop in for a chat in Room 7!
