Technologies Week
This week we celebrated the amazing work of the staff and students in the Technologies Department. Projects in woodwork, engineering, digital technologies, foods, textiles, and our VET courses were showcased in the expo in the Circle of Friends Café. The week started off with a molecular gastronomy demonstration followed by a group of students making cinnamon scrolls during lunch. The students from the Woodworking Club displayed their the sandboard projects and talked with students who are keen to join the club next year. In digital technologies, three students constructed the JTC campus in Minecraft, inviting students to join in and help reimagine how A Block will look. The textiles teachers hosted a student design challenge to create a new school uniform for the JTC student in a post-apocalyptic world and the week concluded with the Year 8 Engineering students racing their rocket cars.
As the school year is quickly coming to an end, we look forward to introducing some new projects for next year and seeing many more amazing student designs as the department continues to grow.
