Term Four

We are very happy that we have been able to recommence our Electives Program, albeit slightly scaled back until we return in 2022. 

 

The Elective Program is an opportunity for students to engage in: STEAM : Making connection between concepts and problem-solving in new and exciting ways; to choose health and wellbeing, sport and physical development or to make community connections through Service Learning.

 

ART PROJECTS with Simone

This is a quiet space for students to take some time to unwind and learn a new skill; whether interested in abstract art, painting botanicals or they just want to dabble.

ANIME FILMS with Matt

Students will be watching and exploring a selection of Anime films. They can also learn more about Anime and Manga-style drawing by visiting one of the best and largest resources for quality, original Anime and Manga-style tutorials at anime outline.

ALL GAMES with Ben

Soccer, table tennis, basketball. Improve your hand/eye coordination and teamwork. Try them all! 

BOARD GAMES with Rob & Amir

These games vary from learning fun, co-operative games to more complex strategic games for advanced players, with the mindset that it is not the winning but the taking part that counts, and no prior knowledge is needed to join.

YEAR 9 PERSONAL PROJECT PREPARATION with Emily & Natalie

These sessions are an introduction to the MYP Personal Project, commencing with the nuts and bolts, inspiration and brainstorming. You'll read more about these sessions in the coming weeks.

YEAR 10 FUTURE AMP EXCLUSIVE 

Future Amp all-in-one platform helps every student build employability skills, discover industries, access career mentors and plan their career path, anywhere, anytime. Future Amp is proudly supported by the David Gonski AC national Future Minds program and the University of Melbourne’s (Innovated Program).

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Melbourne Graduate School Summer 2022

The Summer Program is a free program for students going into year 9 or 10 in 2022. It provides students with an opportunity to broaden their outlook and interests and encourages their academic learning and personal development. Classes will be on a variety of topics and subjects. Student experiences in previous Summer Programs have all been extremely positive. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the 2021 Summer Program will be delivered online

When is the Program held?

The four-day program will be held from Monday 10th January to Thursday 13th January 2022, 9:30am-2:30pm. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the 2022 Summer Program will be delivered online.

Who is eligible to apply?

Students entering year 9 and 10 in 2022 are eligible. Students who attend a majority of classes will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Register by Friday 26th November 2021.

Recommendations are based on a series of psychometric assessments to help identify strengths, and results are combined with a more subjective questionnaire where students can state their preferences for work styles, environments and talents.
