What do I do with my child's home learning books and other school resources?

Home learning books used during remote learning should be returned to school when your child returns so that learning can be shared and celebrated. Teachers are keen to see the books, affirm your child and also gauge your child's learning.

Please also return any other school resources that have been sent home including any reading books and small whiteboards. This will save the school the considerable cost of replacement

Can I send my child to school for supervision next week?

We understand that you may have a child at school next week if they are in Kindergarten or Year 1 and ask that older sibling not be at school unless absolutely necessary. We are still under a directive to minimise staff on the school site next week.

Except for Kindergarten and Year 1 students in Week 3, next week, families are only able to send their children to school at this time if there is absolutely no option for them to learn from home. There are reasons this may be the case:

  • Every responsible person in your household, besides children, is an essential worker e.g.
    • frontline health worker or
    • in another occupation that requires you to physically attend a work location during school hours, parents who work at home should always consider the responsibility to keep children at home
  • Your child has pastoral care needs, discussed with the principal
  • There are other extenuating circumstances, discussed with the principal

Students have access to the same learning materials and experience whether they are at school or at home, and there is no advantage for students who are supervised at school.

Happy Birthday
